In order to evaluate the reaction of flower yields, including biological yield and seed yield of safflower cultivars to selenium treatments under irrigation conditions, a split plot factorial based on a completely randomized block design with three replications in Markazi province, Markazi province Was performed. Treatments included irrigation at three levels, full irrigation according to the convention area (irrigation every 7 days), irrigation in the bollowing, irrigation after pollination as the main factor and selenium spraying at three levels of 0, 20 and 40 g / ha And two safflower cultivars including Sina cultivar and local cultivar of Isfahan were considered as sub factors. The results of analysis of variance showed that none of the studied factors had a significant effect on flower yield in safflower. Water stress, especially in the blooming stage, led to an increase in the number of sub branch in the plant. Also, the occurrence of drought stress in comparison with control treatment significantly decreased grain yield. Application of selenium in conditions of irrigation interruption resulted in an increase in all traits. The highest grain yield was obtained from application of 40 g / ha selenium. The local cultivar of Isfahan showed a higher genetic potential than climatic conditions compared to Sina cultivar and significantly increased grain yield and biological yield.
