Abstract
With pride and a sense of responsibility, we once again turn a new page of *Abkhan* magazine; a publication that has been the voice of thought, knowledge, and experience in the field of water engineering for more than sixteen years. Water, this vital and complex element, today holds a central place not only in environmental and economic issues but also at the heart of policymaking and sustainable development.
Along this path, *Abkhan*, a scientific-promotional journal, aims to develop indigenous knowledge and transfer new experiences in the sciences and engineering of water by providing a platform where professors, researchers, students, experts, farmers, and policymakers can interact and share their specialized perspectives.
The first issue of *Abkhan* was published in 2005 (1384 in the Iranian calendar) through the dedicated efforts of active students from the Department of Irrigation and Reclamation Engineering at the University of Tehran. Since then, we have strived to build a bridge between academia, industry, and society by adopting an interdisciplinary approach and promoting applied science. This effort became more official and responsible in 2021 (1400 Iranian calendar) when the University of Tehran’s Research Deputy upgraded the journal to a professional (scientific-promotional) level.
At *Abkhan* magazine, we are committed to reflecting scientific and practical achievements across a wide range of water-related specialties, including irrigation and drainage engineering, hydraulic structures, water resources, agricultural meteorology, water resources management and planning, hydroinformatics, rivers and aquatic ecosystems, historic water works and structures, water and the environment, water and
